Job Title:  Ice Operations Crew Member - FT

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: 
Reports to:  Ice Operations Manager

SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the Zamboni ice re-surfacers and the three ice sheets in the Arena and Ice Hall.   Additionally, this employee performs an array of other jobs ranging from customer service to building maintenance and repair.  The employee will often open and close the Ice Hall and World Arena as well as oversee aspects of the building automation systems and ice plant systems.  This position supervises other Part Time Ice Operation employees.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES, but are not limited to the following: 
 
•    Positively represent the World Arena and Ice Hall to visitors, users and co-workers; act as Manager on Duty when he/she is the only Full Time Ice Operations staff member on duty.
•    Service the needs of customers, ice tenants and skating coaches.
•    Enforce building safety policies/procedures.
•    Daily maintenance for up to three sheets of ice to maintain the requisite ice thickness and levelness (dry and cross-cutting, figure 8 cuts, spot flooding, hose flooding;  edging, chipping boards and “slushing” holes).
•    Take daily, weekly, and event readings and complete/update ODC and CFC logs.  
•    Provide an environment that is safe, clean and enjoyable.
•    Maintain and operate the Zamboni ice resurfacers and ice edging equipment, including regular knife changing.
•    Prepare the ice for events including changeovers (from dry-floor to ice)
•    Pro-actively manage facility equipment to maximize utility conservation.
•    Protect/maintain facility equipment such as: sound systems, fireplace.
•    Perform general building maintenance and repairs tasks as assigned.
•    Assign locker rooms and distributing keys to hockey users.
•    Operate and program parameter and scheduling set points for the HVAC automation system.
•    Operate Arena and Ice Hall compressors, and maintain operating logs.
•    Open and close Ice Hall and Arena.
•    Installation and removal of ice to include painting base-coat, ice logo as well as floods to meet game or event ice requirements. Repair ice markings and logos as needed.
•    Replace hockey glass as needed.
•    Respond to building alarms from ADT (Security Link) company.
•    All aspects of snow removal and de-icing of grounds including but not limited to: plowing, shoveling, ice melt.
•    Maintain clean and safe working areas with special attention to mechanical areas, Zamboni access areas and public space.
•    Perform periodic and seasonal maintenance on hockey goals and netting.
•    Install & remove tenant ad panels on Zamboni for hockey game nights.
•    Document guest accidents per prescribed protocol.
•    Ability to lift 100 lbs and work in cold conditions required.
•    Make suggestions on how to upgrade operational procedures to improve customer service, employee morale and general efficiency.
•    Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Monitor and control all aspects of keeping and maintaining high quality ice and the requisite duties necessary to maintain such conditions.  Maintain a high level of customer service at all times.  Ability to supervise part-time staff as needed on assigned shifts.


Job Title:    Technical Marketing Manager   
Department:    Colorado Springs World Arena Marketing Department
Reports To:    Director of Sales, Marketing & Promotions       
Status:    Full-time           

Job Summary:  The purpose of this position is to manage the electronic/technical needs of the World Arena, which includes: in-house televisions, marquees, digital signage, coordinating Scoreboard/video crew and other in-venue marketing tools and equipment to support advertising/promotional opportunities and revenues.  This position provides graphics and design for the Marketing Department and other departments as necessary. 

Areas of Responsibility:
This position’s primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: managing the digital/electronic advertising in all World Arena venues, coordinating the Scoreboard/Video/Marquees and using digital/electronic resources to support promotional efforts of the venues.

Primary Activities:

  1. Oversee the Scoreboard Video and the outdoor Marquee needs regarding     creative development, video crew, communication and trafficking/scheduling of     ads on in-house systems.
  2. Schedule the video crew as needed for both events and maintenance of     systems.
  3. Oversee the maintenance of digital/video systems.
  4. Manage the in-venue advertising tools including, but not limited to Pro-ad     signage, the scoreboard, concourse/lobby TV screens, the Ice Hall Lobby TV,     both WA and PPC marquees.
  5. Establish tracking tools that will assist in assessing effectiveness and value of signage, scoreboard, internal TV screens, marquee, web site and email marketing.
  6. Develop, convert graphic materials to be used on the scoreboard, pro-ad panels, in-venue televisions and marquees.
  7. Develop scripts to be used by the video crew during sporting events or when needed.
  8. Create animation and video to be used on in-house tools.
  9. Manage the equipment and networks between all digital signage for all three venues.  Oversee upgrades and repairs as necessary.
  10. Provide basic technical support and assistance to World Arena marketing staff.


Skills Required:

  • 3-5 years experience working with computers with progressively more responsibility
  • Computer experience which includes: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects for
  • custom animation and Final Cut Pro video editing and file formatting.
  • Multi-media graphics training
  • Must be organized and have the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Must have ability to communicate with different levels of staff
  • College degree in Computers or related field

Position Schedule:
This is a full-time, exempt position.  The candidate is expected to “do whatever it takes” to fulfill his/her commitments and responsibilities.   This position may be expected to work a flexible work schedule which may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
