The World Arena is proud to offer the U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills program. Participation in the program will enable skaters of all abilities and ages to learn the fundamentals of ice skating. The curriculum is designed to be fun, challenging and rewarding for everyone.
Every registered skater will receive:

◗ One 30-minute skating lesson per week
◗ Seven public skating passes
◗ Free skate rental for lessons
◗ Record book with stickers
◗ Badges at the end of the program
◗ Helmets, if needed

Our Instructors:
The World Arena is home to many of the nation’s finest skaters and coaches. Our Skating School staff instructors are highly trained and experienced in teaching all levels of skaters. The student-to-teacher ratio will never exceed 10-1, and in our pre-school classes, 8-1, to maximize the learning potential in every class.

Classes Offered (for ages three and up):
◗ Snowplow Sam (Ages 3-5; Level 1-3): A three-level structure for our youngest skaters. Teaches fundamentals such as balance, marching, stopping and having fun on the ice.
◗ Basics (Ages 6+; Level 1-8): These classes provide skaters with the foundation of the sport. After the basics the skaters are prepared to specialize and move on to more advanced areas of skating.
◗ Adult: People of all ages can enjoy figure skating! Our adult class is geared to each individual’s skill and comfort level. Tons of fun in a relaxed environment.
◗ Hockey Initiation: Classes are one hour. Participant must have passed Basic 2 before enrolling. Skater must have skates, helmet with facemask, shin guards, gloves, elbow pads and stick. All ages are welcome.
◗ Freestyle (Level 1-6): Freestyle levels are where skaters begin to work on footwork, jumps and spins.
◗ Learn-to-Dance: Teaches fundamentals of ice dancing including proper use of edges, tempo and skating prescribed patterns. Must have passed Basic 8 or have permission of instructor. Class subject to availability.

◗ New students sign-up for either Snowplow Sam 1 (ages 3-5) or Basic (ages 6 and above).
◗ There will be no refund for missed lessons.
◗ We will confirm registrations with participants.
◗ Public skating passes will not be replaced if lost or stolen.
