Finance-Accounts Receivable Coordinator (Part-time)

REPORTS TO: Business Manager

FACILITY: Colorado Springs World Arena (WA), Ice Hall (IH) and Pikes Peak Center (PPC)

SUMMARY: Responsible for posting all receivables and cash receipts for the World Arena, Ice Hall and Pikes Peak Center

HOURS: Approximately 25-30 Hours Per Week


  • Responsible for recording all sales/cash receipts in the accounting system (SAGE100), including:
    • World Arena and PPC box office ticket sales/cash receipts on a daily basis.  Also, maintains the excel worksheets that support the daily box office sales.
    • Ice Hall sales/cash receipts on a daily basis.
    • All other sales/cash receipts
  • Responsible for all billing and collecting of Accounts Receivable
  • Pursue collection of past-due invoices
  • Processes credit card payments for various sales.
  • Set up event data in SAGE 100 and various excel worksheets in advance of each event
  • Enters/uploads A/P check data into our bank’s Positive Pay (secure pay) service.
  • Creates weekly collection report to management
  • Audit and code concession/catering commission report; invoice commissions per event
  • Prepares Sales & Use Tax Returns (monthly)
  • Maintain files for all World Arena, Ice Hall and PPC deposits.
  • Credit card dispute resolution – responsible for investigating disputes and responding to credit card companies to achieve positive outcome.
  • Assist with merchandise sales for specific events
  • All other duties as assigned.


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel).
  • Must have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Two years related experience or equivalent.
  • Experience with SAGE ERP 100 (accounting software) a plus.

Job Title:  Stagehand

Reports To:  Senior Event Services Manager

Wage:  $12.00/hr

Job Summary: 

Stagehand work is part time / on call position.  Employee will perform a multitude of physical tasks to change over the facility – both Broadmoor World Arena and Pikes Peak Center – from event to event.  Person assists in the assembly and disassembly of show productions through load in, load out and operating events.  Cross training will happen in various departments:

·         Electrics – set up / operate lighting instruments, followspots, anything powered for the event

·         Sound – assist Head Technician set up / operate all areas of mics, speakers, equipment, etc.

·         Carpentry – set up staging, trusses, scenery, back drops

·         Properties – this crew is responsible for set decorations and hand held items used by the actors during the performance

·         Wardrobe – work with costumes / clothing of the performers.  Laundry, ironing, mending, and dressing performers included.

·         Video – set up video walls / screens and projectors

·         Backline – Assist with instruments

·         Pusher – pushes cases to and from loading dock to floor

·         Truck Loader – Unload and load all of crates from the trucks/busses.

Position will be assigned per event and based on your experience to best ensure a successful event.

Job Responsibilities:

·         Load and unload crates and equipment from trucks, which can include handling items that weigh up to several hundred pounds.

·         Assembling production equipment

·         Construction of set pieces, risers, musical equipment, etc

·         Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, supervisor(s) and co-workers.

·         Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

·         Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.

·         Capable of following instructions and work closely with others

JOB TITLE: Box Office Associate – Part Time

REPORTS TO: Box Office Manager

SALARY: $9.00 per hour

JOB SUMMARY: Selling tickets for every event in the ticketing system while maintaining the highest level of customer service.  Must have basic computer knowledge, the ability to perform mathematical calculation involving money and tickets, able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, keep accurate records and maintain a professional and courteous manner towards co-workers and the general public at all times.  This position is often the first point of contact the public has at the World Arena / Pikes Peak Center.  Must be able to work variable hours, mainly nights and weekends.


  • Ability to demonstrate great customer service with a friendly attitude
  • Collect the proper amount for the value of tickets purchased as well as issue the proper number of tickets and correct change with efficiency and accuracy
  • Know and understand the ticketing system, ticketing policies and ticketing policies regarding patrons with disabilities

  • Reconcile all money received from ticket sales at the end of each shift

Internship Description:
The Broadmoor World Arena and the Pikes Peak Center are looking for a college junior, senior, or graduate student to serve as an intern. Both venues are managed the Colorado Springs World Arena, a local 501-c3 non-profit organization. Both are host to world class performers including CC Hockey, Alan Jackson, Huey Lewis and the News, and the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey. As an intern with our organization you will be introduced to every aspect of event marketing and have the opportunity to be involved with the process every step of the way.
This internship is unpaid

Intern Objectives Include:

  • Assist with / learn the planning and promotion of family shows, concerts, and arena sporting events
  • Assist with / learn day-of-event operations associated with all marketing and group sales events such as client parties, birthday parties, and corporate functions before and/or during the event.
  • Assisting marketing and group sales staff with various projects involving research including conducting demographic and psychographic research for various department projects
  • Learn to maintain and build the social media databases
  • Grassroots marketing research and execution by going out into the community with a regular employee to represent the arena at festivals, fairs, and other events with high traffic to publicize arena and events coming to us. This will be done to flyer, poster, create relationships with various retailers, and get the word out about the arena and the upcoming shows
  • Data entry for Cyber Club, e-mail database, and sales force: and assisting in ways to increase our database
  • Learn to make group sales calls and Assist Group Sales Manager in researching corporations, scouts, schools, and other businesses that may be interested in group sales events.
  • Help with the creation and execution of group sales plan and group sales flyers.
  • Gathering event news clips for various building public relations
  • Assist with various public relation functions such as: brainstorming, executing public relation events and performing all other duties assigned

TITLE:  Part Time Housekeeper

REPORTS TO:  Housekeeping Supervisor

FACILITY:  Colorado Springs World Arena, Ice Hall and Pikes Peak Center

DEFINITION: Under general supervision, cleans assigned areas, stocks all supplies needed for assigned area; and performs related duties as required.


  1. Sweeps, scrubs, and mops floors; vacuums, spot cleans, high dust and low dusting.
  2. Cleans walls, windows, mirrors, pictures, mini-blinds, bookcases, computer screens, and water fountains; washes, dusts, and polishes furniture, woodwork, shelves, and metal work; cleans rest rooms and replenishes rest room supplies; and collects and empties waste receptacles.
  3. Notifies supervisor of minor building maintenance repairs, including replacing light bulbs; repair to office furniture; and refers work requiring major maintenance or repair to appropriate sources.
  4. Performs job in a safe manner using proper body mechanics. Responsible for the proper care of all equipment, supplies and financial assets involved in the performance of the job.
  5. Additional duties may be outlined by facility. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of the management.

Some commercial cleaning experience; or, equivalent combination of training, education, and related experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities. Possession of valid Colorado Driver’s License is required along with dependable transportation to and from work.

Knowledge of: Current cleaning methods, equipment, cleaning solutions, mops, buckets, body mechanics, wet and dry vacuum cleaners, ladders, cleaning and maintenance safety practices, Right to Know SDS sheets and OSHA practices.

Ability to: prepare cleaning materials and solutions, including choosing proper tools and cleaning agents; work in contact with strong cleaning and disinfecting solutions; add and subtract small numbers; speak English sufficiently to communicate with supervisor and fellow employees; understand and follow oral and written directions in English; read signs, labels, work schedules, and instructions; follow safety precautions and procedures; plan and complete assigned duties within allotted time frames; and work independently and well with others.


Many of the essential functions of this position are characterized by demanding physical work requiring such physical activities as standing, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Moving, handling, and transporting heavy furniture and equipment are also required.   Applicant will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.


SUMMARY:  This part time position is responsible for converting the arena from one event set-up to another on an as needed basis.  This position is very physical and requires long periods of standing and walking.  Employee must be able to work a varied schedule (weekdays, weekends, and holidays); mainly late nights.
Rate:     $12.00 per hour
