JOB TITLE:                  Guest Services - Part Time (Ushers, Ticket Takers, Door Guards, Security)

REPORTS TO:              Director of Event Services

JOB SUMMARY:  This position has a key role in creating an enjoyable and safe experience for all guests and clients attending public or private functions at the World Arena, Pikes Peak Center and World Arena Ice Hall.  Responsibilities include taking tickets, assisting guests with seating/directions/information, communication with team members, safety awareness and providing security services for a variety of events at all of our venues. Other responsibilities include assisting  in chair and trash removal for certain events. Most events are evenings and weekends, however, we also offer some weekday events. Shift times vary and are usually three to six hours in length. 



·         Assist patrons in finding their seats.

·         Monitors his/her section for unusual behavior or guests in need of assistance.

·         Provides general building knowledge.

·         Enforces building policies, no smoking, standing on seats, etc.

·         Enforces safety procedures, keeping aisles clear, and controlling traffic flow.

·         Assists in building emergency procedures.

·         Clear Arena of patrons after an event.

·         Other duties as assigned.

   Ticket Takers

·         Greets guests, checks their tickets and directs to their section.

·         Verifies ticket is for the correct event, date, and performance.

·         Knowledge of ticket system for each event, including special passes or credentials.

·         Keep lines of patrons moving as quickly and safely as possible.

·         Visually inspect guests for bottles, cans or any other item not permitted in the facility.

·         Other duties as assigned.

   Door Guard

·         Provide security and maintain surveillance of doorways, entrances, exits or other areas assigned.

·         Direct guests to proper entrances and deny entrance through secured doorways and areas.

·         Assist Ticket Takers with screening for cameras/video equipment and/or any other items not permitted in the venue.

·         Prevent entrance or exit to the venue through emergency exit doors.

·         Clear venue of patrons after events

·         Other duties as assigned.


·         Provides security for the backstage area, including locker or dressing rooms.

·         Secure barricade, mix position, and front/side/back of house.

·         Assist management staff and uniformed security with crowd management.

·         Assist ushers in keeping aisles and traffic areas clear from congestion.

·         Clear venue of patrons after events.

·         Other duties as assigned.


·         Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time.

·         Ability to maneuver throughout the venue including walking and climbing up and down stairs.

·         Reaching, grasping (Ticket Takers, Ushers)

·         Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, grasp for chair and trash removal.

·         Other duties as assigned.


·         Self-motivated, reliable, and positive attitude.

·         Must be able to pass online Crowd Management course.

·         Ability to work a varied schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedule.

·         Ability to understand and follow directions.

·         Ability to communicate information and direct patrons in a professional manner.

·         Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
